Ferry from Dubrovnik to Hvar, Croatia

With our bad luck with the Raic driver we decided to try the bus to go to the port to catch our ferry to Hvar. While it is a relatively easy and short 10-minute direct ride, the bus can be crowded and the port stop is not marked “Port”. Get off at Luka Gruz 1.

The receptionist at the TI told us that it was 5 stops from the Pile Gate on bus 1a, 1b or 3 on the TI side of the street or bus 8 from the other side of the street, but it is difficult to count and the buses don’t stop at all the stops. For us it was only the 3rd stop.

The Krilo Star ferry to Hvar was waiting when we arrived at the port, but they don’t start boarding until after 4:00 for a 4:30 departure.

The ferry has a large comfortable room of seats and tables with windows that are covered in sea spray. A shame to be in an enclosed ferry on the beautiful Adriatic sea without much of a view.

I purchased advanced tickets online at krilo.hr.
