From Machu Picchu to the Uyuni Salt Flat of Bolivia, crossing both the Altipano and the Atacama desert, this is a harsh yet stunning region of volcanoes, salt lakes and crazy rock formations. Flamingos, llamas and nandu (a large bird something like an ostrich) give life to the stark landscape.
