Last Morning at Lebala Camp, Kwando-Linyanti, Botswana

6AM breakfast.

In the vehicle we are the same 4 guests as yesterday afternoon. We started the morning by the hyena den, but no pups.

The plan for the morning was to look for the lions. We tracked them for a while with 2 other vehicles doing the same, but no luck. Came across a nice selection of game but nothing major. We are getting very spoiled.

Flight Mix-up

At 11:15 our guide gets a call that we are supposed to be on the flight to Kasane. We had been told they were picking us up at 1:30PM. Jako drove as fast as he could along the rough roads but we were pretty far out. We arrived at camp just as we get the call that the flight couldn’t wait for us as someone had a connection to make.

At lunch we were told that we would be flying out at 2:30. The mistake was a scheduling error by the airlines.

Lunch – Spinach and beef casserole, mixed bean dish, grilled tomatoes, Greek salad, tropical fruit, cheese and crackers.

At just before 2:30 the plane was coming in as we reached to the airstrip. It’s about an hour flight to Kasane, gateway to Chobe National Park, with only us on the plane.
