Mestrovic Gallery
The Mestrovic Gallery is about a 30 minute walk along the harbor and then turning inland at Setaliste Ivana Mestrovica. Housed in the former residence of one of Croatia’s premier artists the museum is worth a visit if you like 20th century sculpture. There isn’t much information in the museum but Rick Steves has a helpful write up about the artist and the museum in his guide book.
Kastelet Chapel
Mestrovic also renovated a chapel down the road decorated with his series of wood reliefs of the passion of Christ. I love the expressiveness of his work, a sort of cross between Michelangelo and El Greco.
