Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort Friday Market – The Market to Skip in Southern France

One of the most disappointing markets in Gard, with little to offer in terms of stocking the pantry, has a low budget flea market feel. Most likely a good place to pick up a cheap knit hat or a meat tenderizer. You know, one of those mallets you pound meat with. On the bright side, I discovered that the market is on the circuit of one of my favorite bread purveyors, the only bread stand in the market that offers much of a selection. Saint Hippolyte also has a Tuesday market, but after this experience I have no intentions of going back.
