A visit to the picturesque islands of Murano and Burano, a short hop from central Venice, is a fun and popular day trip. Some come to shop for Murano glass or Burano lace, others just stroll and take in the ambiance of colorfully painted houses along narrow ways. Burano in particular is as bright and varied as any childās box of crayons. Even the laundry hung out to dry seems to be color coordinated with the faƧade.

oh I miss these places — thank you for this today.
thanks for sharing. We were in Venice last month and planned to visit Verano, burano, and Turcello. Unfortunately it was planned for our last day which was rainy and miserable. Next time, right?
Right! I think you made the right choice. Just wouldn’t be the same in the rain. A good excuse go back š And thanks for the comment.
And the boat ride over in huge waves didn’t sound fun. Plus, we got to experience Piazza San Marco 2 ft underwater…
No, a small boat and huge waves does not sound like of fun combination. However the Piazza San Marco completely flooded is quite a sight.
Your pictures are amazing!
