While nothing tops a visit to Chateau de Villandry when the magnificent gardens are in bloom, a winter visit still has much to offer. This is when the structural elements of the garden shine in the soft winter light and the grounds are virtually empty.

Those are such unique and interesting trees! What are they?
Hi Hali, I’m not sure what kind of tree they are, but I believe the form is more from years of pruning rather than being a certain kind of tree.
